| J.D. Fortress is the next up and coming Science Fiction Fantasy writer. He explores genres such as Steampunk, Dystopia, High Fantasy, and Science Fiction. He enjoys listening to epic music and playing war games on his custom built PCs and console gaming. He is aiming to get into video game design, architecture and eventually medicine. |
| He was a student of Frederick Turner at the University of Texas at Dallas and studied Epic Literature. He has a collection of most of the best known and ancient works ever written. His favorite poem is probably Beowulf or Robert Browning's "Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came." |
| He also learned how to write short stories under Gary Swaim in his creative writing class at UTD.

| He has always been interested in learning languages and took one fantasy linguistic class under Larry Hunt at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. He ended up graduating as fast as possible from the university so he could start working. He studied Chemistry and English at the university there. |
| He worked as a Database Administrator after college, a security guard, a pipefitter/welder, and a warehouse manager during his years. He is currently working as a traveling worker, trying to make some extra money. |
